Brass is a metal alloy of copper and zine. Known for its durability and workability, brass has been used for centuries - the first example of brass jewelry dates from ancient Rome. Our favorite part? Aside from how good it looks, brass is sustainable. Today almost 90% of all brass in the world is recycled.
An affordable alternative to gold, brass allows us to produce statement pieces that have a luxuriouys look and feel at accessible prices. We use solid brass, ensuring that every piece we make is a long-lasting heirloom. Sionce we don't use plating over a base material, our products are easy to clean off, and you don't need to worry about the color wearing off.
About our Horn
All our horn products are crafted from Ankole Longhorn cattle horn, a breed native to the Rift Valley of East Africa. Soko artisans ethically procure this recycled material, which is a byproduct of the food industry, from nomadic tribes in Kenya and Uganda - it would be wasted otherwise. Reclaimed horn has gorgeous natural variation in its color, so every piece is individual, one-of-a-kind and can range from a dark lustrous balack to striated natural tones.
