POSITION: Senior Account Manager

Location: NY, NEW YORK

The Role

We are looking for a high energy Senior Account Manager who is self-motivated and an all-around hustler. Reporting to the VP of Sales, they will be responsible for cultivating, developing and maintaining wholesale relationships with new and existing customers. They will expand Soko's footprint, opening new doors into new domestic and international territories. They will support internal sales operations and oversee the sales order processes in various stages. The ideal candidate will be an expert in wholesale jewelry. They are a go-getter who is passionate about Soko's mission and who will match the energy of our dynamic team.

Responsibilities Include

Customers and Relationships

  • Cultivate, develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers
  • Manage communications and feedback between customers and internal partners in Sales, Design and Production
  • Partner with VP of Sales to ensure proper in-store execution of sales and merchandising strategies

Operations & Results

  • Manage daily review of shipments, orders, changes in distribution and deliveries for each account with Client Support Analyst; secure and ensure timely fulfillment of all orders with Production Team
  • Work with Client Support Analyst and sales team on weekly review of selling data, and share data with internal teams
  • Attend regional and international trade shows as necessary
  • Travel to customer locations to meet with leadership
  • Work with customers to ensure proper in-store execution and manage in-store events as necessary

Strategy & Innovation

  • Cultivate new accounts and seek opportunities to expand business with existing accounts; identify and strategize means to penetrate new markets
  • Assist Merchandiser when necessary to monitor relevant trends and communicate to internal partners
  • Partner with customers to communicate and execute brand positioning and key strategic initiatives for brand, where appropriate; propose and negotiate for optimal placement in store

Skills and Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in wholesale jewelry sales is required
  • Superior organizational skills and excellent communication skills; team oriented and outgoing
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines; highly detail oriented and meticulous
  • Strong analytical skills and fluent in retail math
  • Brings strong relationships and network with the retail industry
  • Prior experience with Specialty Stores, Department Stores and Ecommerce retailers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; superior Excel skills preferred
  • Fluency in French a plus
  • Familiarity with NuOrder/Joor and NetSuite a plus
  • Willingness to travel, including weekends (up to 30%)
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as necessary

POSITION: Senior Jewelry Designer

Location: San Francisco

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Jewelry Designer to design a competitive product line which supports the brands’ strategic, aesthetic, and financial goals. You will work closely with our merchandising team to execute the direction and production development of each collection. The ideal candidate will be excited by the challenge of working with artisan techniques instead of factory production and working with sustainable materials like upcycled brass, wood, and horn. They will have an expert understanding and command of the design process and go to market strategies.

Responsibilities Include

  • Work closely with CCO, design, and merchandising team to develop and execute product designs
  • Support research and development of seasonal trends and colors
  • Sketch and spec proposed product to be used for production
  • Interpret design/style trends into brand appropriate product that fits within pricing strategy and production’s (artisan network) skill capacity
  • Interpret Soko product vision and aesthetics of the brand
  • Bring a high level of creativity, attention to detail and efficiency while working under tight deadlines and on multiple projects simultaneously

You Have:

  • 5+ years of jewelry design experience working in or for established commercial brand
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Jewelry design, design, fine art or related degree preferred
  • Strong technical drawing skills; proficiency in Adobe Suite, CAD/Rhino
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual work with excellent execution of ideas
  • Strong construction and pricing knowledge mandatory
  • Commitment to Soko’s mission and vision; passionate about ethical and sustainable fashion
  • Willing to travel internationally to Kenya at least twice a year
  • Must love dogs

You must have professional photography experience and a portfolio that highlights your ability to capture people, context and fashion in a compelling way.
